Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP) is designed to increase the quality and number of students from underrepresented minority groups who complete undergraduate degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). The primary focus is undergraduate research and postbaccalaureate studies. LSAMP is open to upperclassmen (rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors) undergraduate students.

**Non-qualifying Majors: Nursing, Pharmacy, Psychology, Public Health, or MD (Medical Doctor)

Prospective Scholars must be an undergraduate student interested in a NSF-approved STEM discipline and submit a complete application for programming considerations. Application deadline is February 15. Any incomplete applications will not be considered for consideration.

Eligibility Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • From a racial or ethnic group historically underrepresented
  • Rutgers rising Sophomore, Junior, or Senior
  • Must be in good academic standing
  • Declared major, or intended STEM major
  • Interest in pursuing a graduate degree in a STEM field upon graduation
