Participate in the Science Career Professional Externships Program

Dear Rutgers alumnus,

Would you be interested in sharing your professional expertise with a current Rutgers student who is looking to follow a similar career path as you? If you currently work in science or technology and are located in the tri-state NJ/PA/NY region, we hope you will consider volunteering to mentor a Rutgers sophomore majoring in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM).

This new opportunity invites alumni mentors to host a Rutgers student in their workplace for a two-day extern experience or informational interview to offer students greater exposure into STEM professions. Our office will provide tips and guidelines for you to create a successful experience for the student who shadows you during your work day.  Rutgers students have many questions about the working world. They are eager to know what jobs they can pursue with their majors, and what the actual work might involve.

Alumni mentors already working in science or technology are among the very best resources. Rutgers students will benefit tremendously from interacting with alumni like you.
