About the McNair Program
The Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program provides a supportive environment and a multitude of resources to assist and prepare students interested in pursuing a doctorate education. Students gain hands-on research experience, faculty mentorship, and develop professional and academic skills that will allow them to become competitive applicants for graduate and doctoral programs.
We offer numerous services to inform students about applying to graduate school, selecting graduate programs, writing a strong statement of purpose, and securing funding for graduate school. Our program helps to demystify the process, and offers individualized academic advising and assistance to students to help them achieve their academic goals.
Our services and activities foster students' professionalism, preparedness for doctoral education, and understanding of how to succeed in graduate school. They also encourage students to assess and realize their personal skills, abilities, strengths, and capacities. Our staff guide, inform, and instruct, while encouraging students' academic, personal and professional success.
