Program Support

Lynell James Lynell James, Program Coordinator. Ms. James is originally from St. Lucia. She is a proud first-generation alumna from Rutgers University. Ms. James received a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science and Sports Studies and a Bachelor of Arts degree in French from the School of Arts and Sciences. As an undergraduate, she participated in the Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP) program. Ms. James was a Peer Counselor in the Federal Work Study Program for five years, and then worked for two years as a Clerical Assistant, in the Rutgers Office of Financial Aid. It was there that she developed a passion for helping students understand the process of financing their education. Her office is located on the second floor of Lucy Stone Hall.

Julio Garcia Julio Angel Garcia, Program Coordinator. Mr. Garcia is ecstatic about joining the SAS EOF team as a Program Coordinator.  He is a proud first-generation college student and EOF alumnus from Kean University where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications with a concentration in Public Relations. Throughout his time at Kean University, Mr. Garcia held various positions within the following departments: Residence Life, Office of Conduct & Community Standards, and EOF.   It was through his involvement and experience in his undergraduate institution that Mr. Garcia developed a strong passion to pursue a career in Student Affairs. Upon graduating from Kean University, he accepted a graduate assistantship as an Assistant Community Director with Montclair State University’s Office of Residence Life. There he was able to serve as a professional staff member while working on a Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership, with a concentration in Higher Education. This past summer, Mr. Garcia served as an Assistant Hall Director for the SAS EOF Summer Institute. With his degree and various experiences, Mr. Garcia aspires to become an EOF Counselor to be able to give back to the program and provide EOF students the opportunity to grow personally, socially and professionally as he did in the program.

Margie Boneo Margie Boneo, Secretarial Assistant. Ms.Boneo is the secretary at the SAS EOF site at Lucy Stone Hall, Livingston Campus.  She has been with EOF since 2010 and has worked at Rutgers for a total of 14 years. Prior to working with EOF, Ms. Boneo worked for the Office of the Registrar at Rutgers. She is originally from New York City and is dedicated to the mission of the EOF program.

Yesenia Rivera Yesenia Rivera, Secretarial Assistant. Ms. Rivera is the secretary at the SAS EOF site at Milledoler Hall, College Avenue Campus.  She is seeking a Bachelor's degree in Social Work at Rutgers. Ms. Rivera previously attended Upsala College, pursuing a degree in Business. Ms. Rivera has been working for the Rutgers EOF Department for almost three years. Ms. Rivera takes great pride in adhering to the EOF mission by assisting students with appointments, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere, and setting a positive tone for their EOF experience. Ms. Rivera values education as the catalyst for a full and rewarding life.  She loves being able to interact with the students and help them.
