Financial Aid Eligibility Verification Process

         Prior to attending the School of Arts and Sciences, Rutgers Business School and Mason Gross School of the Arts 2017 Mandatory 5-Week EOF Summer Institute, incoming first-year students MUST be officially verified as financially eligible by the Rutgers Office of Financial Aid. Follow the steps below to complete this process:

Failure to complete the process by June 1, 2017 may jeopardize your eligibility for financial aid and participation in the EOF Program.

 

                             SAS EOF Financial Aid Verification Checklist

1. File the FAFSA beginning October 1 and before December 1.

  • Create an FSAID for Parent and Student

  • Complete the FAFSA*

  • List Rutgers School Code 002629 as your first school of choice.

*Temporarily removing the pop-up blockers from your internet browser will allow the HESAA Questions to appear automatically at the end of your FAFSA application

2. Answer the HESAA Questions for NJ Grants and Scholarships

3. Submit all pages of the 1040s or Tax Return Transcripts (THE VERIFICATION OF NON-FILING LETTER IS NO LONGER REQUIRED)

4. Request additional income documents (all applicable)

If you or your family received any of the benefits listed below, you must obtain copies from the respective agencies:

  • Statement/computer printout from The Division of Welfare for the entire year of 2015*, listing benefits from Temporary Assistance Needy Families (TANF)

  • Social Security Benefits Statement, SSA-1099 Form (s) or computer printout for the entire year of 2015* for all family members who received benefits

  • Supplemental Security Income (SSI) Statement for the entire year of 2015*.

  • Submit copies to the EOF Office and Rutgers Financial Aid only upon request.

*Do not submit monthly statements. 2015 Statements must include TOTAL benefits received from January 1 to December 30.

5. To receive official confirmation of EOF eligibility from the Rutgers Office of Financial Aid:

  • Once notified, login to Rutgers Financial Aid Required Documents and submit all requested immediately!

  • Upload your documents directly to your Online Document Manager or Fax Financial Aid  to (732) 932-7385 with your Rutgers ID number and name must be on ALL pages.

  • Verify your documents were received by emailing the SAS EOF Program Coordinator for Financial Aid: Ms. Lynell James ltjames@echo.rutgers.edu.

  • Check your email frequently for additional document requests.

  • The confirmation process is complete once "EOFQ" on your Rutgers Requested Documents page is complete.

Keep original copies of all documents you submit in an EOF/Financial Aid folder. If you have any questions about this process, please email:
