Letter from the Director
Welcome to the Rutgers School of Environmental and Biological Sciences (SEBS) Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) Program! We promote excellence through access to higher education, helping promising New Jersey residents realize their dream of a university education.
The SEBS EOF office is located on the George H. Cook Campus in New Brunswick, NJ. As the land-grant university in the State of New Jersey, Rutgers SEBS offers students innovative teaching practices in agriculture, environmental and biological sciences. The SEBS EOF professional staff are educators who exist to support student access, success, and graduation.
SEBS EOF operates within the division of Undergraduate Academic Affairs (UAA) under Student Access and Educational Equity (SAEE). As a SAEE unit, SEBS EOF offers innovative programming that supports and enhances the student pipeline leading towards careers in the sciences. Our office works with the SEBS Office of Academic Programs and SEBS faculty to ensure that SEBS EOF students receive academic, career, and personal advisement necessary for retention and graduation with a SEBS major. Collaborative efforts with university programs and departments such as the Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP), Student Support Services (SSS), McNair Post-Baccalaureate Program, and Upward Bound encourage student success and enrollment in graduate or professional degree programs. SEBS EOF program services and activities enhance student success, support student retention and graduation, as well as facilitate enrollment in post-baccalaureate studies.
A short-term investment in your education at SEBS EOF will pay dividends for a lifetime. We invite you to explore careers in Genetics, Animal Science, Environmental Policy, Institutions, and Behavior (EPIB), Food Science, Meteorology, Exercise Science, Environmental Planning and Design, and many others. Our alumni are researchers, physicians, physical therapists, and consultants who are solving the world’s problems one discovery at a time.
