What is the Summer START-UP?
A:The Summer START-UP is a six week residential program offered through SEBS EOF. It is designed to successfully transition students from high school to Rutgers University. Through the Summer Workshop Series, we create opportunities that enhance student performance while guiding them towards degree completion. At the core of the Summer Institute Program is an intensive academic component comprised of linked workshop courses in Mathematics, English Composition, Chemistry and Critical Thinking.
Is the Summer START-UP Program mandatory?
A:Yes. The Summer START-UP is mandatory for all admitted SEBS EOF students. Students who do not attend the Summer START-UP will have their admissions to Rutgers University rescinded.
What are the requirements to participate in the Summer START-UP Program?
A: You must be admitted to SEBS through the EOF program. As an admitted student you must confirm your attendance to Rutgers University through the Enrollment Pathway. Additionally, you must complete the SEBS EOF Summer Institute Forms Packet.
How much does the Summer START-UP Program cost?
A: There is no cost for EOF eligible students. EOF will provide for housing, meals, textbooks and summer tuition.
How long is the Summer START-UP Program?
A: The Summer START-UP Program is a four-week residential summer program commencing early July and ending early August.
What should I bring and what items are prohibited from the Program?

Where will I live during the Summer START-UP Program?
A: SEBS EOF students will be housed on the G.H. Cook Campus during the Summer START-UP Program.
Can I commute during the Summer START-UP Program?
A: No. The Summer START-UP Program is a residential program. All students are required to stay on campus. Can I commute during the Fall and Spring semesters?
A: We highly recommend that you utilize the campus experience and refrain from commuting. Will I be required to stay on campus during the weekends?
A: You will receive a weekend schedule for the duration of the Summer START-UP Program. What classes will I take and will I receive credit?
A: Students will take the Summer Workshop Series course in which they will earn (3) undergraduate degree credits upon successful completion. Are visitors allowed during the Summer START-UP Program?
A: All visitors must contact the office for approval prior to arriving to campus. What happens after I complete the Summer START-UP Program?
A: Students who successfully complete the Summer START-UP Program will matriculate into the fall semester. Students who fail to successfully complete the program will be referred to their local county college for matriculation.
Academic year expenses must be covered by the student, financial aid award, and the parent/guardian
