Tutor of the Semester: Spring 2015

I am a junior in the Edward J. Bloustein School and I am currently working for a Bachelor's degree in Health Administration. I have a passion for helping others, especially the least fortunate. I want to increase the access of healthcare to achieve equity. Additionally, I have always had a strong interest and have excelled in the sciences. This is why I decided to become a Biology tutor and try to instill the same passion for the subject in others. For me, being a tutor is not only about teaching others how to study and how to get good grades, but it is also about myself growing as a person. This year was my first one tutoring Gen. Biology and, even though it was challenging at times, I enjoyed seeing students develop new studying skills. Throughout the semester I worked with great students weekly in one-on-one sessions, and also by leading reviews before their exams. It is an honor to have received Tutor of the Semester because it reaffirms that my efforts have truly been successful in helping others.
